The Perlisten Audio D15s Subwoofer delivers exceptional bass performance in a compact design, making it an ideal choice for audiophiles seeking both power and precision.
THX Dominus Certification
As the world's smallest single subwoofer to achieve THX Dominus certification, the D15s meets the highest standards for large-room audio performance, ensuring immersive and distortion-free bass reproduction.
Equipped with a 2.0kW RMS amplifier, the D15s utilizes a 48-bit DSP engine and a 32-bit ARM Cortex M4 processor, enabling microsecond-level adjustments for precise sonic accuracy. Users can easily control advanced settings via a 2.4-inch LCD color touchscreen display or through dedicated iOS and Android applications.
The D15s features a 380mm carbon fiber diaphragm capable of ±30mm linear excursion. This design incorporates multiple aluminum shorting rings, a robust magnet system, multi-layer Nomex spiders, and lightweight aluminum voice coil wire, all optimized through proprietary nonlinear modeling techniques and refined with Klippel laser measurements to ensure superior real-world performance.
The subwoofer offers both balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs and outputs, along with a 10-band parametric EQ featuring three user presets. Additional customization options include adjustable low-pass filters, variable phase control from 0° to 270°, and selectable polarity settings, allowing seamless integration into diverse audio setups.
The D15s employs an acoustic suspension (sealed) design, delivering tight and accurate bass reproduction. Its frequency response varies based on EQ settings, with the THX EQ mode ranging from 20Hz to 320Hz (-6dB) and extending down to 16Hz (-10dB), ensuring deep bass extension suitable for various room sizes and listening preferences.
Measuring 528mm x 500mm x 500mm (HxWxD) and weighing 46.0 kg, the D15s boasts a piano black finish that complements any décor. Its compact dimensions allow for flexible placement without compromising on performance, making it a versatile addition to any audio system.
A 15” woofer has never been called nimble until now. Massive amounts of output is not the only mark of a great subwoofer. Though we can compete with the worlds best in that category, our design metric is to have ultra low distortion to create the subtlety of every detail of the bass guitar, to the 12Hz stomp of that T-Rex. Innovative technology such as an 2kW smart amp with a 32 bit ARM core, iOS and Android app’s to control up to 8 subwoofers, a 2.4” TFT touchscreen, and the control of a acoustic suspension configuration for extremely low distortion.
Every part of this woofer was computer optimized to ensure every speck of performance was achieved and then validated with advanced test equipment like Klippel. Starting with the tuning of the massive 60mm peak linear excursion, spider compliance, and magnetic motor curve with shorting rings. The 15” woofer is then mounted on a massive 80mm front baffle and operated in an acoustic suspension configuration for maximum control. Every step of the way ensuring the best low frequency experience you can have.
At the core of our amps is a 32 bit ARM processor to control innovative technologies like real time temperature status, current and voltage monitoring, fault detection, and performance diagnostics evaluated at more than a 1000 times a second. All of this to make sure that our 2kW amplifiers are always in control even well below 20Hz. In addition we have dual balanced and un-balanced inputs with pass through, 12v trigger, and OTA firmware updates through our APP to always get the latest improvements. The end result is low distortion bass for the finest details with the dynamic range to meet the highest transients without compression and control at the click of button.
Bass management is critical to control the notoriously difficult acoustic environment known as your listening room. Standing waves, subwoofers in an imperfect position, and sound variation from seat to seat are only some of these issues. Control for up to 8 subwoofers with 3 banks of 10 PEQ’s, Time Delay, Phase, 6 standard EQ’s, 24dB low-pass crossovers, and polarity, are all tools available to optimize your room performance. Using Bluetooth Low Energy to communicate with your iOS or Android based device.

Manufactured by Perlisten Audio, this subwoofer offers a range of features and technologies that aim to enhance the overall listening experience. Priced at $5,000, the D15s is targeted towards audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts who demand exceptional sound quality and precision.
The Perlisten Audio D15s Subwoofer boasts a robust and durable construction. The cabinet is made from high-quality materials and features a heavy steel plate attached to the bottom, which helps to improve stability and minimize unwanted vibrations. The subwoofer also comes with adjustable feet and spikes, allowing users to achieve optimal stability and positioning.
One notable aspect of the D15s is its optional sealed or ported operation. This versatility enables users to tailor the subwoofer's performance to their specific needs and room acoustics. However, it is worth mentioning that the process of swapping between sealed and ported configurations can be somewhat complicated and may require some effort.
The primary focus of the Perlisten Audio D15s Subwoofer is to deliver exceptional bass performance. Equipped with dual 15-inch woofers, this subwoofer is capable of producing thunderous low-frequency effects (LFE) and reproducing the subtle nuances of deep bass in music tracks. The subwoofer's advanced DPSR and DSP technologies enhance the overall sound quality, ensuring accurate and precise bass reproduction.
One key feature of the D15s is the implementation of Directivity Pattern Control (DPC-Array). This technology improves the subwoofer's vertical radiation pattern, reducing unwanted floor and ceiling reflections. As a result, the bass response is more focused and controlled, providing a more immersive listening experience.
The Perlisten Audio D15s Subwoofer is THX Ultra Certified for LCR (Left, Center, Right) channels, indicating that it meets stringent performance standards in rooms up to 3,000 cubic feet. This certification guarantees high-quality audio reproduction and ensures that the subwoofer can deliver a powerful and impactful low-frequency response.
In terms of user experience, the D15s offers several convenient features. However, it's important to note that high-quality subwoofers can often command a premium price due to the advanced technologies and superior performance they offer.
Another limitation of the D15s is its size and weight. Weighing in at 101 pounds, this subwoofer may present challenges in terms of placement and mobility. Its large size may limit the available options for positioning within a room, and moving or repositioning the subwoofer may require additional effort.
While the D15s excels in delivering deep bass, the use of dual 15-inch woofers may have limitations in delivering the same level of performance in larger listening rooms without subwoofer support. In such cases, it is recommended to consider additional subwoofers or larger models from the Perlisten Audio range to ensure optimal bass response.
Availability of the Perlisten Audio D15s Subwoofer may be limited due to backorders, which could potentially result in longer waiting times for customers who are eager to purchase this product. In conclusion, the Perlisten Audio D15s Subwoofer offers impressive performance and sound quality, particularly in terms of bass reproduction. With its high build quality, advanced technologies, and THX certifications, this subwoofer provides a powerful and immersive listening experience. While its high price point and size may be limiting factors for some consumers, those who prioritize exceptional sound quality and precision will find the D15s to be a worthwhile investment.
