Design and Build Quality

Crafted with a natural walnut finish complemented by black glass, the Barcelona 217 exudes a contemporary urban flair that is sure to elevate any room's decor. The cabinet's materials have been chosen for their durability as well as their visual appeal, resulting in a piece that feels as sturdy as it looks elegant. The C-frame aluminum chassis underscores this strength, offering a flexible yet robust foundation for your valuable AV components.

Dimensions and Compatibility

Measuring 24.25″ W x 24.75″ H x 21.25″ D and weighing a solid 96 lbs, the Barcelona 217 is compact enough for smaller spaces while still accommodating a TV up to 40 inches. The interior dimensions ensure ample room for a variety of AV equipment, making it a versatile choice for different home theater systems.

Capacity and Durability

The top surface can hold an impressive 350 lbs, which signals confidence in the cabinet's construction. The adjustable shelf within is rated for 75 lbs, catering to heavy audio components. This emphasis on capacity and durability means that the Barcelona 217 is built to last, even as your home theater system evolves and grows.

Ventilation and Cable Management

Heat is the enemy of electronic components, and the Barcelona 217 addresses this with its smartly designed ventilation system. The louvered doors allow for efficient air circulation, maintaining optimal operating temperatures. The open architecture not only benefits airflow but also simplifies cable management, keeping your setup organized and accessible.

Accessibility and Ease of Use

The soft-close door dampeners add a touch of luxury to the cabinet's operation, minimizing noise and wear. Accessibility is further enhanced by the removable rear panel, allowing for effortless installation and maintenance of components. The shelves’ infinite adjustability is a boon for customization, adapting to the varying sizes of AV equipment with ease.

Modularity and Customization

A standout feature of the Barcelona 217 is its modularity. The stackable design not only aids in customization but also in future-proofing your investment. As your needs change, so can your storage solutions, without the need for a complete overhaul. The additional accessories on offer extend the cabinet’s functionality, ensuring that it can adapt to your lifestyle.

Installation and Setup

Ease of installation is another highlight, with minimal assembly required to get the cabinet up and running. The hidden adjustable levelers are a thoughtful inclusion, ensuring stability on uneven surfaces, which is crucial for both performance and safety of the equipment housed within.

Pros and Cons

The Barcelona 217's design is both stylish and practical, with superior ventilation and a modular system that caters to a custom-fit experience. However, it is important to note the Proposition 65 warning for California residents, which indicates the presence of chemicals known to the state to cause cancer or reproductive harm. This warning may be a consideration for potential buyers, though it is a common notice on many products.

The Salamander Designs Barcelona 217 Audio Cabinet is an investment in both form and function. Its contemporary design, coupled with thoughtful features like superior ventilation, adjustable shelving, and a robust frame, make it a compelling choice for those looking to enhance their home theater experience.
