Description
A Reference Turntable for Serious Vinyl Listening
Vinyl playback requires more than just a quality record and cartridge; the turntable itself must isolate unwanted vibration and speed variations from interfering with your music. The Michell Audio Orbe Reference Turntable approaches playback with serious music lovers in mind, relying on meticulous engineering to preserve the spirit of your records.
From its rock-solid build and vibration reduction methods to stable rotation control, every design decision helps promote focused listening. The free- standing motor unit also decouples the drive system from the main chassis. The result is a turntable that gives vinyl lovers a great place to start building a high-performance analog system.
Precision Engineering for Clean Playback
Michell’s 60mm vibration-damping platter helps minimize resonance, and its inverted oil- circulating main bearing allows the platter to spin smoothly with quiet efficiency. Michell’s dual-layer isolation system further reduces the impact of vibrations from your environment. This focused energy allows your stylus to track the grooves of your vinyl with improved consistency.
The Orbe Controller Power Supply uses servo motor control to keep speed variation in check, allowing music to play at the right pitch and with proper timing. A screw-down Orbe Record Clamp holds your records flush against the platter as they spin. Also, the weighted pendulum-style sub-chassis also ensures your main bearing, platter and tonearm assembly have a rigid foundation.
A Flexible Foundation for Your Analog System
Dimensionally, the Michell Audio Orbe Reference Turntable is 49cm wide by 37.5cm deep and stands 15cm tall. It weighs approximately 13.5kg. This small footprint allows you to fit the turntable easily into your dedicated listening room or audio setup. Adjustable three-point spring suspension allows you to customize how your turntable sits on top of the sub-chassis. Aluminum feet give the turntable additional stability and limit vibration, thanks to its low-contact design.
The Orbe Reference Turntable supports either T2 or T3 tonearms. This allows flexibility when it comes to pairing the turntable with the rest of your analog audio setup.
