Description
Small Form Factor, Full Range Capabilities
The Acoustic Energy AE1 Active Bookshelf Speakers has one goal it doesn’t strive to overcomplicate. Delivering you a compact, built-in powered speaker, with no external amp required. Each unit houses 100 watts of Class A/B amplification ensuring every frequency is amplified and managed properly.
From 42Hz to 28kHz the frequency response is there to ensure you have coverage for both highs and lows. Plus, the sealed cabinet design allows for the bass to begin and end where it should without getting bloated. When using a home theater planning tool to map out your setup, look for speakers that take as much care into their frequency range and cabinet design as the AE1 does. Because with built-in amplification you’ll get closer to the true sound of studio monitors.
Precision Craftsmanship for Transparent Listening
Acoustic Energy AE1 Active Bookshelf Speakers features a ceramic aluminum sandwich cone. This midbass driver offers rigidity while keeping mass low to minimize distortion as you turn up the volume. Flex is the enemy of detailed midrange and that cone is designed to resist it.
Towering over that, you’ll find an aluminum dome tweeter that employs Wide Dispersion Technology. This allows high frequencies to spread throughout your listening area. Instead of being tied to one seat, everyone should hear the same thing. Couple that with the 3.5kHz Linkwitz- Riley crossover and you’ll find both drivers working together without dominating the soundscape.
Streamlined Connectivity, Versatile Setup Options
Sound hungry streamers, DACs, or desktop rigs paired with professional equipment will find these active speakers easy to connect. The AE1’s feature RCA inputs as well as balanced XLR inputs. With amplification built into the chassis you won’t have a web of cables stretching to the amplifier.
Each speaker also features bass and treble controls on the rear allowing you to make minor adjustments for your room. Speaker placement has always had an impact on frequency response so this is nice to have. Elevate them on stands or bookshelves, or tuck them into a stripped down two-channel setup. The possibilities are yours to arrange.
