Stealth Home Theater Transformation in the Rocky Mountains
Transforming a Flex Space into a Stealth Home Theater
Welcome back, Dreamedia family! Today, we're high up in the Rocky Mountains at a stunning modern mountain home, where we'll be turning a flex space game room into an incredible stealth home theater.
Project Overview
We're installing a 5.4.6 Dolby Atmos system featuring a retractable drop-down screen and an Epson LS 12000 4K HDR projector. The goal? A fully immersive theater experience that remains hidden until it's time to enjoy a movie.
Audio Setup
-
Speakers: Focal 300 Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers.
-
Configuration: 5.4.6 Dolby Atmos with a five-channel bed layer.
-
Subwoofers: Four SVS SB16 Ultra subwoofers strategically placed for deep, powerful bass.
Video Setup
-
Screen: Dragonfly in-ceiling drop-down projector screen with ambient light rejection.
-
Projector: Epson LS 12000, delivering stunning clarity and vibrant colors.
Control & Automation
For effortless operation, we're integrating a URC control system with both a TRC 1120 remote and a TKP 8600 touchscreen panel. With a single button press, the screen drops down, the projector powers up, and the theater comes to life.
Future-Proofing
We're also wiring for future expansions, including an outdoor TV and landscape audio, ensuring this setup evolves with the homeowner’s needs.
Installation Process
We’ve carefully mapped out speaker placements, accounted for room acoustics, and even made structural modifications to recess the projector screen seamlessly into the ceiling. This stealth setup ensures the space maintains its modern aesthetic while offering a top-tier cinematic experience.
Final Thoughts
This project showcases how any space can be transformed into a high-performance home theater without visible equipment clutter. Stay tuned for the full installation video!
