When Howard decided to convert his mostly unfinished basement into a state-of-the-art home theater, Dreamedia was there to make that dream a reality. The space was originally 30x20 feet but was refined to 27x19 feet to accommodate all the high-tech enhancements, including a false wall and high-density rock wool insulation for optimal soundproofing.

The Heart of Cinema: Cutting-Edge Audio-Visual Technology

Howard’s theater isn't just about comfort; it's a hub of advanced technology. At the center is a 176-inch acoustically transparent screen paired with a powerhouse of audio equipment from Tekton Design and SVS, providing an immersive 7.4.4 audio setup.

But the real stars are the JVC 4100 projector with an anamorphic lens and the MadVR enhancer, bringing unparalleled clarity and color depth to every film. 

Smart Design Meets Sophisticated Sound

Understanding the importance of acoustics, Howard implemented double walls with a gap filled with acoustic insulation to contain sound. Above and beyond the standard, the ceiling and step-up seating arrangement contribute to a sound profile that makes every seat the best seat in the house. 

Navigating Challenges and Lessons Learned

Even with Howard’s extensive AV knowledge, the project presented challenges that only seasoned professionals could navigate smoothly. Howard reflects on the value of partnering with an experienced AV company like Dreamedia to avoid common pitfalls and ensure a seamless installation.
